BMW 3 series convertible owners - can the back seat accomodate a baby car seat?

My wife is in love with the M3 convertible. I told her it can't accomodate a baby seat. She said she saw one on the road recently that had a baby in the back seat. I said that was wishful thinking. Who's right? The correct answer may or may not cost me a great bit of cash.

What answer would you like - lol

Ignore this one I guess!!!!

There's a 3 series near me that has 2 child seats, it's not a M3 though and the older style, pre- metal folding roof model.

The E46 certainly seems like it should fit a baby seat. My 6 foot 4 friend can sit back there.

Whether or not a baby seat can fit in the back doesn't depend so much on the height of a passenger that can fit in there. Rather, it's the size of the plastic base of the seat, and whether or not it can fit snugly and flat on the seat cushion. Look at an older 911. The transmission hump makes it impossible for the majority of child seats to fit back there.

That being said, I'd have a hard time imagining that there's not a single child seat (from the dozens of manufacturers out there) would fit in there. You might not find a Britax that'll fit (or maybe you will), but at the very least, BMW must make one that fits, albeit expensively.
