Depending on the company.
I had 20 days after 10 years as an AME for a flag carrier. As a Federal Inspector, I get 20 days after 8 years....but come with it...5 days for kids's care...15 sick days for me....and two days for personal affair...and 11 statute days.

Well, 10 days is 2 weeks off, that is pretty normal for the US as well.
Only US employer I am aware of that give you a month off per year with pay from year one is the military. |

5 weeks vacation? Does that also cover sick leave (2 weeks)?

This is pretty much the US standard as well. Except a lot of companies now will not go above 20 paid days unless someone was grandfathered into a 5 week paid leave.
For management employees...it's probably the same, but there are always negotiations for those that are highly valued. AS a matter of fact, it is also negotiable for non-management employees...so they do not have to have time of service as per below to get more than the below. What usually happens with key employees is that they are driven to work, so even when given 20-25 days, they don't take it. It's silly to some folks to hear of this, but some employees have to be reminded to use their vacation days come December or they will lose it as companies will only let you roll over 1-2 weeks from the prior yr.
