Skin burn lotion/gel thread?

I searched and couldn't find a thread here in OT about a gel or lotion recommended as an excellent treatment for minor burns. I recall someone recommending it and it being available on-line. I wanted to order some and have it on-hand. Does someone else recall the thread or the name of the product?

Edit:
I kept at my search on drugstore.com - found the product - Water Jel. Here's the OT thread I remembered, but couldn't find:
Burned both hands last night

Neosporin (for truly minor burns) or silvadene cream (for slightly more extensive burns).

do you mean silvadene cream?
or the whole earth method taught me by an old southern cook was to daub the burn with a fresh cut onion.

Get an aloe vera plant and just go out and cut off a piece of it and rub it on the burn. You will be amazed.

Aquaphor healing gel is what my friend's fiance (doctor) gave me a supply of the next day after that burn (might be the same company as the AquaJel). Basically, my burn was only 1st degree, and so she said the main thing was to keep the skin both clean and moist. I would wash up (using cold water- warm was still way too painful), then air dry, cover myself in a ton of the stuff, then wrap in non-stick gauze and tape it shut. Sure, I looked like a jackass for a week with my hands all like that, but I healed up great and only I would know where the burns even were now.

In hindsight, had it only been like a dime sized area, I wouldn't probably even remember the incident. Its the fact that it poured over the backs of BOTH hands and dribbled down my left wrist, covering so much surface area with far too many nerves for my own good.

That linked thread made me think back... damn, burns seriously suck.

When the pain goes away, it also gets gross, cause thats when the skin all falls off. Juts be ready for that.

Was your burn bad enough to cause immediate blisters? How bad is it? Where is it?

We have Aloe Vera plants in our yard and it does work... just ugly and stinky... We have been using a product called OCEAN POTION this year and it has worked GREAT for sunburns.... It has Aloe, lidocaine?, and like a menthol type kick to it... anyway, we know what the aloe does, the lidocaine kills the pain, and then the menthol sorta seems to deep cool when a breeze touches your skin... wish we had this stuff around when I was a kid... mom used to put vinegar on me...

I have a big one (3-4 foot around) growing just outside of the back door and use it when needed. It works very well.

I nor anyone in my household did get burned - I just wanted to order the product that I recalled being mentioned in the thread, but couldn't find the thread via several search attempts.

I know all about the aloe vera plant as well, and have used that on burns in the past. It did help, but I thought it would be worth the effort to order the Water Jel product and (hopefully not!) try it out.

Bingo, we have a winner.
Water jel is absolutely magic if applied quickly.
I have personally experienced it take a 2nd degree burn (on my face) to a 1st degree. From large blisters to a small red patch in 5 minutes. I didn't believe it at first.

Another time I watched as sheets were apllied to the back of a man with serious burns. In the places the sheets were applied, he had some minor blistering. On two places where it wasn't applied, he recieved skin grafts.

I work at a place where there is a strong posibility of people getting burned severely.
Water jel is absolutely manditory to be stocked in all 6 of our emergency response trucks and in every first aid kit in the refinery.

Yeah, you don't want to try it out. Getting burned absolutely sucked. I still cannot believe how friggen painful that was. Glad you are not actually burned.

I burned the edge of my hand a bit 2 nights ago on a pan. Lately I've been on a roll with injuries...
