I work at a chemical plant that did blow up 21 years ago. Heard 45 miles away, broke windows 6-8 miles away. And I was here when it happened.

The area/unit I work in is the last still running. About 3 months ago a mountain lion was spotted in the plant premises. Then several more times over the next month by different people in different units that are all being torn down. I found numerous tracks about 150 feet from the back door to our control room. I was walking out the back door about 2 weeks ago and saw something flashing by about 40 feet away in the dark. It was only a fox. Guess the mountaion lion has moved on.

It doubt it was a mountain lion here.

A Bobcat, yes.

See my Bobcat thread!

They have a serious lizard problem, I know that much.

Oh we have bobcats, it wasn't a bobcat. They had the Texas wildlife commision or whatever they call it come in measure tracks etc. We got an email from the plant manager to watch out for it. Rather humorous and scary at the same time.

Maybe more like a Cougar. We "ran" into one out at Lake Houston in the summer of 1977! Scary couple of seconds once we realized what it was. We were too shocked to even raise up a 12 guage or prepare to use one of the .22 mags. Didn't need to worry about protecting ourselves either, it was just as scared as us and ran back into the woods.

"Ran" into some other cougars when stationed in Wyoming, but they were more fun...

Actually we have an extensive canyon that runs about 100 miles in length about 30 miles south of here. They say they may be coming out of there.

Cougar and Mountain lion are the same thing. Yes there are Mtn. Lions in my area so one in the Tejas panhandle doesn't surprise me.

Mountain lions all the way down to Del Rio too.

We have the occasional Mountain Lion here in Chicago.

Sorry, I got the impression that you were around here in Houston.

Yup, that was it. Looks like they are on Morris Rd which is 1/4 mile to the E and runs parallel to FM 2499 which is what I was on.

I was the circle in the upper right when "something" touched down then it moved SE over my car so it would have hit Morris next.

If you zoom in close, you can see a few people still hiding out there in the woods shivering in fear.

When I was 5, one came down our street (small neighborhood... just a street with houses on both sides)... and busted up half the houses on the other side.

Took my wagon (from my yard!) and never brought it back.

Took my next door neighbor's collie and its doghouse... chained together.

Dog showed up a coupla weeks later... dragging the chain and looking kinda funky.

The neighbor's house on the other side of us was moved/twisted about a foot on its foundation.

That would have been me.

Cloth seats in the car and they are a ***** to clean when soiled so I took it to the woods.:)
