Game 7
So who will it be in Detroit tonight? Red Wings or Penguins'
|
Is there really a question?
Game 7, at home? |
Penguins

|
I am hoping for a good game, with the result being Lindstrom hoisting the cup. I think Hossa may have a big game tonight.

Friday Night, Game 7... Marquee Matchup between 2 big US teams... the NHL and NBC should really be marketing this better, imo.

2-0 Pens. Looking good for the City of Champions.

WOW!
Man that was exciting. |
My heart hasn't slowed down yet!

Fluery should have gotten the Conn Smythe. He was the difference, not Malkgoon.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gif Credit the Pens for a great team effort. |
2 shots by the Wings in the last 6.5 secs and Fleury stoned them both. Very exciting game.
|
Malkin was the clear choice. His defense in the last two games was superb. Whats with the Wings booing at the presentation of the cup? Contrast that with last year and the Pens fan applauding the wings.
|
What a heart stopping series. Awesome result. Poor form with the booing though. I don't recall ever hearing a hockey crowd doing that before. Quite the year for the Pittsburgh sports - Mr. Lombardi, please welcome back Lord Stanley. Sweet...

The fans were booing Gary Bettman. They did the same thing in 1997 when the Wings won the cup on home ice. Detroit fans hate Bettman and will always boo him every time walks on the ice, win or lose.
Anyway, the Wings were not themselves for most of this series... the injury to Datsyuk was part of it...but they just didnt seem to have their legs like usual. Hossa played very timidly...like all of the talk from the reporters got in to his head. He rarely rushed the net hard and played from the perimeter most of the time... not a good series from him and I wonder if Det. will sign him this summer to the long term deal that they were talking about. Pitt played a strong series, particularly the last 2 games. They were hungrier and/or healthier and deserved to win the Cup. |
I said this earlier on the other thread, what a class act Babcock is and all he did last night was prove it. Staying on the ice to shake all the Pens hands. To the victors go the spoils but to Babcock and the Wings my utmost respsect.
