Not sure I could be more depressed

Raining outside. I spent all day yesterday drinking colyte and sitting on the toilet in preparation for my colonostomy at 9:45 today. Oh and did I mention I am also getting an endoscopy (sticking a tube with camera down my throat)? Just more fun adventures with Crohn's disease. I am losing blood, but they don't know from where.

To look at me I appear to be the picture of health. Can go out running, biking, ride the motorcycle, drive the 911. But internally, my body seems to be failing me. I slept about 2 hours last night. I used to be a much more optimistic person, but this is just wearing me out.

I am not sure I want to hear the answer to the blood loss. It is not going to be anything good. I almost just said fuch it and skipped the procedure, but not knowing is probably worse than knowing.

Thanks for letting me rant.

Hang in there man. Positive thoughts sent. Take care.

Hang in there. You know we don't let our "family" go easily. One of us would hog tie you and take you to the appointment.

I'll tell you the same thing I just told my Dad, after he went to the hospital with very minor chest pains. I'm glad you went. It turned out he had a very minor heart attack, and ended up having three stents last Tuesday.

Make us glad you went.

Certainty is almost always better than uncertainty. Best of luck and speedy recovery, Kurt.

That really sucks, Kurt. Fingers crossed. Crohns can be cruel. I know a few people living with it.

creaturecat 06-15-2009 06:06 AM

Best wishes. Hope all goes well.

widgeon13 06-15-2009 06:09 AM

good luck on the outcome, at least knowing the results can give you options on treatment. It's the waiting that is so frustrating.

KaptKaos 06-15-2009 06:30 AM

Good luck. I hope it goes well.

peppy 06-15-2009 06:33 AM

Kurt, Hope all goes well today. Hang in there.

oldE 06-15-2009 06:43 AM

Kurt,

Best wishes headed your way.

Just hope they don't use the same 'scope' for both procedures. If they do, make sure they do the upper GI first!

Hang in there.
Les

You wouldn't give up the Porsche for an oil leak would you? Go get patched up. There's still tread on those tires.
;)

Good luck, Kurt. IMHO knowing and dealing with the problem is infinitely better than not knowing and constantly wondering/worrying.

That prep sure is hell--sitting on the toilet for a day is a good way to get anyone's spirits down. My solution was a laptop and a stack of DVDs!

Zeke 06-15-2009 07:20 AM

Best, Kurt. Plumbing can be patched.

Scooter 06-15-2009 07:42 AM

Positive thoughts sent your way Kurt. Keep the faith and be strong brother.

mike55 06-15-2009 07:46 AM

Kurt, it's always better to know than not. I'm going through some similar plumbing problems and I know it's no treat. Stay positive and it will work wonders. All the best.

Danimal16 06-15-2009 07:49 AM

Kurt don't give up hope, ever. You are a great guy and everyone here knows it.

So let us know what you need and we will abuse you in a loving way!!!!

After all it is slow on PARF and we need a worthy target.

Good thoughts for you.

It's so frustrating to think you take care of yourself, exercise, etc., then some weird cr@p pops up out of no where. The not knowing - I think is the worst.
Do what you have to do... best of luck
