This works for me. I have no idea whether ot not the chigger is still there but I do know the itching stops, so I'm happy.

someone sugested wizzing on poison ivey rash to stop the itch, might work for chiggers and its a good excuse to drink beer

OK, my husband is just like that about laquer thinner... I thought he was nuts until the poison oak incident. I am wickedly allergic to poison oak. Managed to crash my mountain bike into a huge cluster of the nasty stuff.

Horrendous itching. Laquer thinner took care of it almost instantly. I think that the oil from the poison oak was destroyed by the laquer thinner. Not a terribly comfortable experience to rub the laquer thinner on the scratched bits, but the short rather intense discomfort was rewarded with absolutely NO itching immediately.

**Disclaimer** I'm not a doctor, didn't sleep in a motel 6 last night and we all know that my husband is a bubble off plumb. ;)
