That my last name was (surname witheld)?

Your last name is tied to your address in many places. It could be the county court house or the bank that has your mortgage. Your phone bill or any utility bill. In our county anyone can go to the County Assessor's web site and look at property ownership. That includes name and address.

The crook does not know who you are, just a name and an address.

If he sent it to red-beard he knows who you are!
