Is this worth anything?

Other than scrap, of course. It's worth a bit in scrap. Antique water heater from early 20th century, top-of-the-line, manufacturer is Ruud. It weighs a lot, so eBay is sort of out of the question. It's filled w/ copper coils and copper fittings, other wise cast iron:

I agree, I would get ahold of RUUD and see if they would want it.
If not, there's always Craigslist!
Cool item there!

I removed a Ruud heating boiler circa 1967 last summer and it had the same coil set up as the above boiler.
I got a good payout in the scrap copper and brass.
I think Ruud has a factory in Alabama.

Also, stuff made of cast iron actually has folks that collect.

Check this thread out. Anyone cook with a Cast Iron Skillet?

speeder,
If I have space, I would keep it and turn it into a nice small closet or maybe flower stand

How do I figure out what it's worth? It's almost identical to the one in the picture. It was installed in 1927.

Turn it into a beer tap.

It's really cool.

Depending on how much it would cost to freight to TX I might be interested in it.

It's a nice decorative piece.

EDIT: Strip the copper, I just want the Cast Iron exterior

I think it's really cool, and if I had a place to put it, I'd keep it.

A Ruud dealer/distributer might also be interested in it as a historical item to show in the business or showroom. I bet you might be able to squeeze a grand or two out of it. Go online & search for info.
