Update on Wheel Falling off and shop

Well here is the update for my Opel GT...the shop has been very cool about what happened and that is very encouraging. They have not been able to find a wheel for the car as Ronal USA went out of business. They did ask if I had another set of wheels in mind though so that is good, meaning they know they have to get me 4 working wheels etc....for the amt of cash I have dumped into the place and how much they screwed up with them not tightening the lugs and almost killing us they better be bending over backwards and they are.

So, I am going up there Monday evening as that is the drop dead date to find a Ronal R 38, 17X7.5 in a 4X100 bolt pattern. I would still like to have this wheel if anyone knows or finds one, so let me know. Otherwise they are 100% OK with getting all new wheels for my car. They told me they were anxious to get it done for me as it did create a big inconvenience.

Lastly, they of course do have to repaint the area where the tire rubbed of the paint off, and they also said that they would go over the car to double check any places that needed touch up. I had noticed some areas they scratched/chipped in the engine lip/hood area. I.E., they really are being cool.

More soon I hope.

Paul

Pick different wheels now, keep your eyes out and find the Ronal later?

Oh cool...I still might just let the shop do some research to find another 10 spoke wheel with the right offset that would negate the need for a 1/2" spacer. We'll see but again, they are being cool....Monday we'll know for sure.

This is very bad Paul. I think a set of Porsche GT3 wheels would be more suitable as a "sorry for what happened" gift. And because the won't fit the opel, they should supply the rest of the GT3 as well.

Hola folks, turns out I cannot get that Ronal wheel anymore in the 35mm offset so I went searching for a new one and by total luck found the ESM 012 in Silver, the 17" X 7.5"J with the 20mm offset and the 4 X 100 bolt pattern from www.esmwheels.com

Since offset stuff just about makes my head spin I need a little clarification...

...my current wheels are (were) Ronal R38's at 17 X 7.5 with a 35mm offset AND I use a 1/2 spacer. If I get the wheel that is 17 X 7.5 with the 20mm offest, I can get rid of that spacer can't I?

Basically I am a day from making my wheel choice and getting this dame Opel GT back together, and from the looks of it safer as I won't need that spacer.

Paulie
