I think the two latest two mustangs (is the newest one out yet) that are retro look great. I think the camaro is OK visually. I think the new Challenger looks pretty hot. I still wouldn't have any of the three. They are way, way too common. Around here they are second only to trucks which is saying something.
|
We rented a Mustang for fun a while back and were impressed. I still want to try the Camaro out being an old Chevy fan.
|
A friend of my dads is building a '67 GT500 fastback. Sadly the motor is not the original but its still a very slick car.
|
My BF in highschool had a 65/351. Man we had fun in that car. He ended up dying in it though.
:( |
When did he swap the 351 in?

I had a 64.5 , it was a 289.
|
I think they were a six, then 260, then 289
|
Brother spotted one in Vegas. Snapped with his phone:

Just started the early steps of restoring my Wife's '65 Mustang. Her parents bought it new and it's what she was driving when we met..

Nice! Too bad they didn't buy her the fastback. 4 speed/fastback = $$$$

That is the exact car I owned! Color and all.

Avis upgraded me to one of the 300 hp V6 Camaros yesterday in Omaha.
From a visibility standpoint it was a death trap. I couldn't see crap out of the back of it, the blind spots are huge, and the hood is pretty high up there. The engine was ok, made a lot of noise and didn't really go anywhere. In 64.5 the base engine was the 200 ci 6 with a 3 speed Dagenham transmission. The 260 was an early option, then they switched to the 289, A Code, K code, etc. A neat little trivia fact is that the real 65 GT's used the standard 66 instrument bezel. I have the '66 nmy dad and I bought from the original owner in 1991 sitting in my garage on the lift above the turbo. Mine has a pretty heavily built 200 ci 6 though, running three Webers... Bill |
Bill, that sounds cool...blowing off some V-8's with an inline 6. HOT ROD runs articles on hot 6 bangers now and then. The latest featured was a Mopar slant 6.
