Z-man, I presume you read the post regularly. Assuming you have a life away from the keyboard how do you keep up?

Do you find the bad posts yourself or are they reported to you from the regular users?

Curious minds want to know.

It's a mix. We get 2-3 "report this post to a moderator" alerts a day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But we do rely on the "Pelican Brain Trust" to self-moderate these forums.

If there is a hot topic or a thread which can lead to folks being tempted to cross the line (ie: the chest thread), then we pay a little closer attention to what's being posted there.

That list is nearly 700 aliases long. A bulk of that are spammers that we regularly ban. (Lots of the spam posts are filtered so you don't see them - only the mods can see where to get special deals on Nike Shoes and how to prevent your warranty from expiring on your car - even after your second notice....)

I'd have to say Z-man and Nostatic have the highest tolerance level for moderators of any board I post on.

I don't care about the spammers, just was wanting a list of those banned. Maybe I'll start a thread about the memories...

You probably didn't notice since it was fiberglass. ;)

I did that for a while and it helped a lot. Now I check the board whenever I have time, which is not often.

Try it, it really does wonders for getting more work done.
