Schumacher is the Stig?

Well at least for Ferrari portion.

I would have bet it was Hamilton or Button and lost.

Nope.....
If you do a lot of digging, you can get a 90% positive on who it is.

I asked the wife who she thought it could be and she said either Lewis Hamilton or me. I love that woman.

I did see that story but you have to remember that Top Gear's humor is ultra-dry. They would never reveal the Stig's identity. The rumored person is a guy named Ben Collins. When Richard Hammond was injured in the jet car crash, the British government did an inquiry and a report on the incident and the people that were present. Ben Collins' name was listed as a Top Gear test driver and consultant.

I understand and knew about Ben Collins. I just thought it was funny that they had Schumacher under the mask and when they asked him what his name he said a guy has to have some secrets. I suspect the Stig has been Ben Collins (and others) over time but the report was that it was MS for the Ferrari portion.

it was pretty obvious, the Stig stood there, and just standing there already it was clear it wasn't the old white stig.. then walked over , and sat down... it was pretty clear.

I think MS came with the FXX car, Ferrari probably didn't want to handover that test-bed to anybody else, and also wanted to make sure that the laptime produced didn't leave anything to be desired...

I have to say, it's a an ugly piece of machinery, but it sure haul's ass like nothing else

It's actaully schumi's car. That is the reason he probably did the lap. If you do some research into the 30 FXX's built you will find that #30 is black/black with a red pinstripe along the wheels edge. It was given to schumi as a present.

I thought this was common knowledge?

While it was entertaining to see Schumi obliterate the the Power Lap time by seven seconds over that hideous Gumpert, why is the time posted on the board?

The caveat for the board has always been street legal cars, and the FXX is not even remotely street legal in the UK or the EU.

More of Jezza's Maranello pandering.

i thought the rule was, can it go over a speedbump or not.
not sure it can, maybe it has some kind of button on the dash to raise it a couple of inches... i doubt it, but it's possible.

Either way , if it's not up to the rules, i'm sure they will take it off the board again with comment that it wasn't technically according to the rules, they have done that before...
