Question about electric motor on large commercial juicer...
I bought a monster juicer (That is, it's very large. It's not for juicing monsters).
The motor is a 1.25 HP rated at 10.8 amps. When I plugged it in to the outlet in the garage (15 amp breaker) it just hummed then the circuit breaker popped. When I plugged it in to my kitchen island outlet it works fine (20 amp breaker). Is this an issue with the circuit in the garage or the juicer? While the garage circuit goes elsewhere in the house, there shouldn't be any other electrical devices drawing big current. ![]()

Sounds like the in-rush current to start the old motor up is too high for a 15amp breaker.
