Half of that is either total BS or comparing an apple to an orange. You can modify a Z06 to eat a GT3's lunch for the dollar difference between the two cars. For what it is, the Z06 is incredible.

I have never seen a dry-sump lubed car (Z06) starve for oil
You can easily upgrade the brakes (ZR1 Carbon Ceramics FTW), but I don't think they really need it
CV boots are cheap
Suspension is tuned to the track and to your taste, and an easy change
Seats are not race-ready, but different ones bolt right in

Wow great thread here Harddrive. I am like you, I still have my 1966 Mustang that my Dad and I bought back in 1991, but it needs some clutch and brake work, so I haven't been driving it much. Also, I was kinda thinking of looking for something fun and different.

Then, on Saturday night, we were at a friends house for a party. As we were hanging out in the backyard, what do I spot in the alley behind their house? Hmmm, that looks like a Buick Skylark front end poking out behind that shed and tree. So I hop over the fence and take a look.

No Skylark, but a 1968 Buick Sportwagon 400. Yep, you remember the Vista Crusier? Buick's version of it, and its got a big block in it with a TH-400 trans, 12 bolt posi, etc. Think of it as the muscle car wagon. Yep, its big, but its got a big block!!!

Long story short, this guy see's me looking at it, comes out, and lo and behold it belongs to his father in law, he bought it new in 1968 in Denver, and it has spent all 138,XXX miles of its life in Colorado. Its got some rust, not a lot, and the paint is shot, but the engine is strong, and it fired right up after I charged the battery.

Did I mention it came with all the original books, manuals, etc, and that I bought it for $500?

Yep. $500 bucks, with good glass, a strong engine, and a very clean interior. The dash isn't even cracked, it has power disc brakes up front, a/c that blows cold, and power steering, tilt wheel, etc.

Its not the prettiest thing right now, but I am going to have some fun with it.

I don't have any pics of it with me, but this is the body style (its a rougher than this, but mechanically very sound).

Keep your eyes open, and I agree, look for the off brands.

I meant to ask a question of the engine guys with the above pic. Do the twin inlet throttle bodies allow for improved flow over a single round unit, or was this done for a lower hood line?

Improved throttle response, more torque, lower overall height of manifold
