Do you ALWAYS finish what you start?
My wife says I'm not a finisher. Not in the way you're thinking so get your mind out of the gutter.
Wife says I've got too many projects going simultaneously and just a few get finished. I admit I do tend to get so interested in some things, commit to start it only to let it go. Thing is, I get bored. I must have ADHD or whatever the acronym is. My SC has been on jackstands for 6 months or more and my office is a mess from the remodel I started. And, I decided to go back to grad school two nights a week while I travel for work the remainder of the week. I get bored so I pile more on my plate. No wonder my hair is falling out and what's staying is turning gray. Any other non-finishers? |

I don't start something unless I intend to complete the project. I always complete projects before I move on to another. Always.

Eventually... sometimes.
I'm a multi project guy. I have to start the next project before I complete the last one. My kitchen is 95% complete, my garage 95%, my Porsche 95%, so I think I'll start building a shed behind my garage so I can make room for another Porsche ![]() My to-do list is a mile long so I feel guilty for being lazy and not doing anything, but then I realize some people don't even work on their own stuff and then I feel better. Last year I decided I'd stop doing my own house projects and start paying others to do it. So I hired someone to re-side and paint my house. Boy was that a mistake! I guess I'm too anal, but I just can't stand shoddy workmanship.

I cannot stand to leave a project unfinished. Drives me nuts which, in turn, drives the wifey nuts. ![]()

My wife is the one that will start several projects leaving me to come along and finish them. Hmmmm, maybe this is intentional on her part.

Multiple projects, different stages of completion.
All the time.

I pretty much finish all of my projects. I generally don't start them without a plan to finish them in a timely manner.
There is one notable exception though. Three years ago, my father-in-law got me a model of a 944 Turbo for Christmas. I had set aside time to work on it but my father ended up dying and that consumed my life for the next year or so. When I got back to the model, I didn't have the drive to finish it. I've tried to paint it a few times and have always been unhappy with the results and stripped it down. I need to paint it again...

When all your projects are finished, you die!
I will live forever. (So far, so good) Best, Tom

for the most part. if it is a hobby, i finish 100% of the time. house stuff, pretty much. i may drop the ball on the finishing touches, but i get it done.
SC on jackstands for 6 months? check those receipts, closer to 1.5 years.

if i finished everything i started i would not have anything to do.
lets see, i pulled all the panaling off in the music room and sprayed in that foam insulation, BTW, best thing i ever did, then the ceiling fell over by the door, so since money is tight right now, the room is left as is. i have plastic up on the ceiling to keep stuff from falling down. when we bought the house, the roof was leaking around the chimney, which was in bad shape too. so i have torn the chimney down to the ceiling in the den. but, i did fix the roof, tore off the part that had tin and put on 43 squares by myself. i still need to finish the roof cap, but 43 squares and i was so sick of being on the roof i had more than enough. thats just a few of my big ones. just tell her it is a lot easier to nag you about finishing something that it is to finish it and that all the nagging has not worked in the past, so why does she think it will work now. any other marriage advise you need just let me know ![]() oh, then tell her if you finished everything, what would she have to nag you about then.

We have not had kitchen cabinets in two years. But I'm working on them. I didn't realize they were a big deal until my REALLY patient wife made a comment about despair, or something like that.
