My new (old) clock and a movement ?
 

For some time I've wanted to get a clock like this and finally got one today.

I have some questions about it (the movement actually).

The back of the movement looks just like this one (although mine hasn't been polished like this one)

Starting at the top, there's an on-edge wheel that controls the speed of the movement. That's easy enough.

Working counter-clockwise from that top most wheel, then there's another inset wheel that's labeled "stop". Mine is missing the "wheel" and has a shaft in the hole with small, fine internal threads. What's the purpose? I assume stopping the thing from running. I guess it would need to be turned to stop the movement? Does it need to be stopped for time adjustment or anything like that?

Below that wheel is a hole that is used to set the time using the key.

In the bottom center is the spot to wind the clock.

To the right of the bottom center of the winding hole is a switch in a slot in the shape of an arc. There's nothing printed near the slot. What's it for?

It might be fun to undo those 7 screws and check out the inside. You might be able to figure out the answers by looking and playing with it.

The three outermost screws release the movement from the case. Then you can see the guts.
