OK Guys, Edumakat me on Carrollton, Texas
Need info, need fast. Good place to live?
Still working out details on my end, hate to leave the 60 acre farm... I just finished the marble floors on the ground level and have about 500 sqft of 40 year old red oak to refinish in the next few days upstairs. Oh, and have to re-install a bathroom to PO was kind enough to gut...

Check, got the 3/4 tonne Ford Diesel horse/hay/car hauler already! (I'll have to visit the in-laws in OK). And everything still has Texas plates..
I never understood the open warfare, I always rooted for UO against TU. Go Aggies!!! :-) Sister-in-law will graduate from OSU this year (I robbed a cradle). I'm from (gasp) Houston and know a little about Dallas. There are specifics about Carrollton that I am missing in my education. But I do have my kilts!

Is the new gig in Carrolton?
Carrolton is nice, a little dense for my taste. I'm 20 minutes NE, lotsa ranches up this way. You can get yourself a few acres for decent coin. If you don't mind a little bit of a commute consider looking in Bartonville, Copper Canyon, Double Oak areas. I'm in Argyle right in the middle of them and from here to dead center Carrolton is ~13 miles. Are you coming down this way to look any time in the next week or so? Wife is off with the kid so I've got time to show you around. Lotta brand new spec homes available up this way. Scott

Scott,
Nope, housing. Looking to rent a room from a friend who moved to Carrollton two years ago. Potential new gig is closer to Fort Worth. But the cost of this rental is just too good to pass up...

What Stomachmonkey said but don't forget about Highland Village or Flower Mound either. The homes will be newer.

Saw your reply to Stomachmonkey - Carroltown is a nice place. Closer to Dallas than Fort Worth though...

Where is the gig? Rent down here is ridiculously cheap. One of my guys is in just under 1000 sq ft with wrap around balcony, in unit garage, weight rooms, pools, gated, the works for right around $900 per month. Mike, talkin about Verde Riverwalk in Grapevine.

Lived there for a couple of years and its a descent place. Near I-35 so easy to get around, not far from Grapevine and so on.
Nice place. I personally like Ft Worth better but if its cheap, run with it.

Well, the housing in Carrollton would have been NICE!!! Two rooms and a bath, park in one slot in the garage, house right on the golf course.... The gig would have been in north Fort Worth.
Anyway, The DOD has called me and that is the direction I am heading. An offer I could not refuse!! And I get to stay on the farm and keep working on the 40+ year old farm house. At least the Porsches have enough room in the garage. Going to OK this weekend to get our horses and trailer. The in-laws are talking about following us and bringing our other trailers (one can ride on the other) on up.

Remember that they have bad weather and tornado's there. Look for a sturdy house and hopefully with a basement.
