Sorry to hear of your daughter's new challenge. Like others have said, this is entirely something she can live with. No matter how well-adjusted she seems to be with the disease now, I'm sure she'll have her trying times with it as she goes through childhood and into adulthood. Cedars-Sinai has an excellent diabetic center from what I remember. May be worth looking into, if you ever feel the need.
