Free File Transfer Sites?

I am trying to share a large Porsche related .pdf file with a couple of other Pelicans.

Rapidshare.com has a 200 Meg limit, my file is 284 Meg. :(

Any other sites I can use? I need a 300 Meg limit. Or an easy way to zip it and split it into two or three files.

can you convert it to a .doc or such? That alone would probably drop it down to @ 50MB.

Search for freeware called Split-it. It can break up zips & almost anything. I never used it though.

Here's one d/l site http://download.cnet.com/Split-It/3000-2248_4-10701155.html

I have used www.mailbigfile.com in the past with good results.

I guess I can try that. Thanks.

Free service is too small. :(

100 or 200 Meg seems to be the upper limit of free services....

Hmm, their policy must have changed recently since I could have sworn I've sent bigger files than that for free in the past.
Well, how about solving the problem another way? Do you have adobe acrobat? You can save the file down to a more sensible size:

Don't have acrobat. I think I will give up. I was just trying to help some guys who needed G50 rebuild info.

If I could extract a 'chapter' I would be good, but I can't seem to do it.

It is kind of a sideways way of doing it, but you can use a PDF creator software to break the file up in to smaller chunks.

I use PDFCreator, an open source PDF writer that installs as a printer, available here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

Open the document in Acrobat Reader, Choose "Print" and select the "PDFCreator" printer, and it will create a new PDF file. Just print it twice, splitting it in the middle. (In other words, if it is 500 pages, job 1 will be pages 1-250, job 2 will be 251-500).

PDF creator is an excellent, free piece of software. I rolled it out at my last company for people that needed to create PDF files but did not need to edit them.

That will work. Good point.
