What’s up with DIRECTV, Formula1 and Speed Channel?

For the last 3 races, DIRECTV has broadcasted the actual race a week later after it was actually ran.

Practice and Qualifying is spot on in the timeline but the race…one week later?
Long after I have received F1 emails letting me know what I missed

Anyone else?

It's been that way for the last few races (same as last year). Practice & qualifying on Speed, then the Sunday race itself on your local Fox affiliate (then replayed later on Speed).

Same as other racing series.......Whoever makes the top bid, gets the right to broadcast....It can change stations several times per season.....

RaceFanTV.com is your friend...

Notice that up at the top of the page, you can "CLICK HERE FOR U.S. LISTINGS WITHOUT NASCAR (PDF FORMAT)"

In this case, FOX owns SPEED, so it is the same everywhere for the next couple races (no other US networks broadcast F1 races AFAIK). So, again it's SPEED for practice and quali, then FOX for the race on Sunday.

In the last few years, an average of four races a year have been shown on Fox. I think they are trying to attract new viewers by reaching an audience that might not get Speed.

That is exactly their intention. And it is only 4 races this year.
