I don't care what you people say, kids are easier when they're younger.

My son's in college now, a sophomore next year. Terrible Two's, what's that? He was easy. Middle school years were a blur but I do remember they were fun. High school couldn't have gone smoother. Sure he could have earned better grades but he still got into a good college so I'm OK with it. Now though it seems we argue about everything.

He says I'm in the wrong about almost every subject under the sun. I know that in college is where you are supposed to find yourself. Well I wish the kid that I dropped off at school last year would find his way back home because I don't know the man in his room. He's turned into a raging freaking liberal! I left a preppy, The Gap/Banana Republic clothes wearing kid and he comes home in a tie-dyed shirt, ripped jeans and smelly a$$ Birkenstocks. Dammit, I should have made him go to a junior college so I could've kept an eye on him a little while longer. I wonder if it isn't too late to get him into West Point. Freaking UC Santa Cruz!!!

If you brought him up well, he will come around. I was pretty liberal in my early years of college. rights this, change that, and that everything was not fair. I am going to say it, I might have volted for Obama if he ran for pres. back then. As soon he earn some money and the liberals will try to take it away from him, then he will turn around. I did. It only took a couple of years. He will be Ok.

When my eldest son was in Th grade he convinced his NY born ******* teacher to vote for BUSH!

Once he went to college, he voted for obama (uncapitalized for lack of respect) !

His master is American colonial history, he wants to become a Professor.

A few months ago, he saw the errors of his ways and ST. went out and bought an "assault weapon

ND called me up to tell me he was wrong!

(by the way if spell check is used obama get's replaced with asama)

It is politically a really bad time for kids to be in college.

And, yes, it's George Bush's fault. Only a moron of such monumental ineptitude could create an environment where socialism is "cool" again. Any you know how kids like to try to be cool . . .

Welcome to collegiate socialist indocrination. Did he learn anything other than Marxism? Probably not much time for that...

Let the boy be. He will probably smoke some pot, and get laid like a dog. Good on him. As soon as he starts paying taxes, he'll come around.

Hopefully.

Anyone hear/remember P.J. O'Rourke's story of how he wised up and became a conservative Republican?

I forget the details, but basically he admits to being a full-fledged Nam-era anti-war protesting *******. Then he got a job (working on campus, maybe?) and his agreed upon pay rate was something like $200 every two weeks. It rocked his world when he saw how much of that first check went elsewhere.
