I have a gopro and love it. The video quality is very good, I ues energizer rechargable batteries as alkalines just won't cut it. I sync my data from my traqmate with it. The only down side is the sound is not that great.

Here's a video I shot with a Go Pro last winter. Edited the content with Final Cut Pro.

A little fisheye-y, but super cool!

One of my first attempts with the gopro

Cool...Thanks guys...one more question, is the sound that bad all the time as on dlockhart's Aprilia? Does the sounds break up like that all the time?...I plan on using it on the inside and on the outside of my 911 at Sebring for track events....For the money I don't think it can be beat...a "racecam" camera is $600-$700 and I really dont want to spend that..plus, the Go Pro is much more versatile...the "racecam" is fixed in the car and done...

This is mounted on the roof just in front of the sunroof. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RIEb77FoHXs&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RIEb77FoHXs&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> |
I recommend it and have one that has been on my car in the rain and a friends motorcycle in the desert. You can get OK audio. For the money a good camera and very vesatile. Get cheap 2GB Sandiscs at Radio Shack or somewhere ($9.99 each or less) and you can get 2 hours of video and keep lots of AAA batteries on hand.

I like Cisco's (Pure Digital) minoHD Flip camera. One hour of 720p HD video. Excellent quality. I only wish it had a wider field of view. The raw image quality right out of the camera is incredible.

Eats batteries like MOFO.
What I don't like is I can not go right back to watch my Autocross run for the instant feed back. Sometimes it is difficult to know if it's on and recording. Sound sucks, Case is cool and rugged. i put it on my son's Kart. He made one lap and returned with no camera. had to walk the whole track to find it in the weeds. Still worked just need suction cup not sticky base. Karts are violent. |
I've got one...$100.00 if you want it. Used 1 day. My car w/ sequential gearbox and open exhaust overpowers the thing, of no use to me. It's NON-fisheye.
