i just got back from jogging. i go down and around this trail near my house. it is friggen dark in some locations. i take my streamlight polystinger flashlight with me. it is rechargeable, and is a laser compared to most household torches. going down a particularly dark section, i always light up way in advance looking for tripping hazards. i catch eyeballs of some critter in the night, and keep going. i check on the eyeballs periodically. all of a sudden i see a tiny light aim at me. it was an old lady walking. i run up next to her and give her my best cheerful, "good morning!". she replied, "you mother....f'er, get that light out of my face!". i skid to a halt, about to laugh. i said, "i'm sorry, but you are wearing black, walking in the dark, i didnt see you. why didnt you flash me sooner?"..she opened up on me...!!!! something about effing myself, and my mother..blah blah blah..i admit, in self defense i returned fire, and cheerfully ran off.

there was no way for me to have seen her. was i in the wrong? she must have seen my glow coming from a mile away. i thought grandmas are nice and smell of gingerbread. hehehehe. fun stuff.

In FL, the blue-hair drivers give you the finger and shout obscenities if you give them a short honk, or flick your headlights to encourage them to move to the right lane. Grannies can be mean beetches.

In her defense, a flashlight in the face, especially a bright one, has a tendency to piss people off. Consider that she couldn't see crap after the light hit her eyes.

It always cracks me up how the elderly complain how youth has no class then they don't tip, yell at gas station attendants, and flick cigarettes out the window. Classy.

My grandmother truly is a sweet old lady at the age of 92. But piss her off badly enough and she'll give you a piece of her mind. I learned all of the curse-words I know (in both English and Yiddish) from her. Let's just say she doesn't appreciate being cut off in traffic.

If someone shined that kind of light in my face in the dark they might find themselves walking funny on the way home until they removed it.

A regular type of flashlight that isn't so bright would be just fine and wouldn't piss people off.

Yes it was unintentional and her reaction was over the top and she's probably a mean and bitter bad person, but courtesy goes both ways.
