Any drummer here?
I have an odd request, not sure if it's possible.
I am the manager of a kids band, well, not really, be we have a bunch of neighborhood kids ranging from 10 to 12 or so who are really into music. Between everyone, there's a pretty good assortment of equipment, and guitar, bass, keyboard and even some vocal talent. But, alas, it's very difficult to find a kid drummer. It's hard to find any that play at all, and almost impossible to find one that can even credibly play a whole song with any semblance of rhythm. We are looking to do some super basic stuff, I'd imagine a good drummer could pick up these songs in very short order. Would it be possible for someone to play and record these drum tracks, and put them somewhere where I can download them to my iPod? If any of the kids end up make it big, we'll send you 10% of the net (you know how that works, lol) from their first hit. |

put an ad out on craigslist for a kid drummer. they are out there, just gotta find one.
if you want to pay, dont know how much, a friend of mine is great at doing tracked stuff. he would track all the parts for the church band, if we did not have someone there to play something, we had it on tracks. this is not a small time church. most of the musicians play at places like legends or the oprey. he just got back from a trip to go do some music arranging for some band. he also use to write the tab books you see in the stores. send me a list of songs and i can call him and see what he will charge. i dont know what you have for equipment and how your will play it back. we had 3 midi tracks going into the board, left, right and a click track. i suppose you could go mono with the left and use the right for a click, or he could set it up so you get 4 clicks and then the song begins. the problem is, if the song begins with just guitar, there is no timing unless he puts a hit hat click on there, but the audience will hear it unless you use in ears for monitors. i have some midi tracks for some stuff i found online, not the greatest stuff, but you could play to it. the problem with track drums, they sound tracked unless you want to pay big bucks. you can always get the software and do your own. unless you are good, it takes time. email me and i can send some stuff for you to listen to. tyc@sc.rr.com

Check with the kids band teacher or put an ad in the local music store.
