An update on the Perth tapes. They are data tapes only, no video.
The new tapes are from the original Kinescopes, and the slow-scan video originally broadcast. They are being cleaned up and reshown as 'new'. Turns out the archived tapes were taped over when NASA ran out of blank tape in the '80's. |

I'll look for the post, but the Hollywood digital imagery firm is involved because it was discovered that all there was to work with was what is out there now, and NASA is trying to downplay the word 'new' in the tapes story.
