I don't think it is, legion. I had the same suspicions years ago, so I took a long, hard look into what it was all about (about the time I was watching those shop guys fall apart). It turns out all of the dire warnings are, in the case of meth, absolutely warranted. It has some very nasty side affects (mostly related to cognative ability) that are irreversable. While the scare tactics still in use with regards to other drugs are far overblown, it would be difficult to overstate the affects of meth. If Mayfield was indeed a heavy, habitual user, it would be no trouble to tell just by watching him and looking at him.
