I'll post a couple more of the actual yard area tomorrow when the morning sun is hitting things better.

Milt,

I would love that room as my own. How relaxing:)

Are you mowing the runway?
How many beers does it take to mow a 1,000 x 100 foot runway?
Ultimate pilot must have, your own runway.
Roses anyone?

With my current mowing setup mowing 2500' x 75' it can be done in two beers, but ideally it takes 3. 1000' x 100' would ideally take about 1.5 beers, but I would bump up to two just to be safe. :D

I envy Seahawk's setup the most as he has a large body of water coupled with enough real estate for a nice runway. My body of water is a tiny pond surrounded by Ohio flat land. I too love the mountains, but they are not the ideal setting for my flying hobby.

Some great gardens there. A bit less exotic but still enjoyable.

Views from terrace.

I would have to disagree. I think your garden is very exotic and very relaxing. I suspect you could easily rent your house out for other people's vacations.

Probably what my neighborhood looked like about 100 years ago. I bet you never hear a boom box driving by (you might not even know what that is).

There are some great places here but I need addresses. I anticipate becoming homeless at some point in my life and it would be helpful to have addresses and directions to help me find your place. Thanks in advance.

After our last discussion about drinking and mowing, I mowed the grass around the house in three beers and honestly thought I was going to be involved in a mowing under the influence incident.

Tx. No boom box (I had to look it up) but the church bell every half hour. Our garden is indeed very relaxing but it is a lot of work to maintain it in shape. Luckily my sons (10&12) are fighting over who gets to maw the lawn with the tractor.

Nice like a weekend Bed and Breakfast.
The greenery is stunning.

I'm open to trading a left nut for a half acre of grass.

All this thread needs is a cooler full of beer, bbq and good friends.
Always amazed at how quick and green the snow belt gardens spring up.
Thanks for the garden path idea. :)
Canna Lilies, every year from dirt to 6 feet in about 4 months.

In San Diego they just raised our water rates by 20%, they were threatening a 40% rate increase.
During the hot/dry months our water bill can reach $200 a month. :(
If I had a well I could sell water to my neighbors.

Gogar, don't bother providing me with your address. Nothing personal . . .

livi 07-27-2009 11:24 AM

Oh dear Seqoiadendron! Beautiful backyards!

The guys over at the garden forum would be green with envy. I wish I lived in a climate more suited for gardening a wider variety of trees and flowers. Love gardening.

Burnin' oil 07-27-2009 11:53 AM

Garp,

I am willing to make a trade - straight across - my place for your place. I will throw in a wife and/or kids if you're interested. Heck, let's make a complete swap.

Take my wife....please. Her garden is mid left, as seen from space, winter time.

LOL, you haven't seen my wife yet. :p
Seriously, should be possible to do some kind of house swaps for the holidays via PP. Perhaps I should start a thread on the subject.
