Researching old stock certificates?

I have a pile of old stocks (1903-1930) inherited from my parents
that I would like to research.
Anyone know how to go about this?
Tried google but can't find most of these.Their probably just kindling material
but maybe not.
Ex:Alaska Eureka Gold Mining Co.(1912)
Union Pacific Oil Co. (1903)
Silver Dale Mining Co. (1924)
The Canadian Gold +Silver Mining Co. (1913)
etc........
Any ideas?

I did a google search for a couple of the companies in your list.

For the Alaska Eureka Gold Mining company, I found a pdf for an auction from 2006

Quote:

105. Alaska. Alaska Eureka Gold Mining Co. Cert #9. Incorporated
in Arizona. Issued to Jacob T. Schoommmaker for 700 shares in 1912.
Signed by J. Stewart president and P. A. Arney secretary. Vignette at
upper left of spread winged eagle. Black border with gold safety print
and seal. Uncancelled. Printer – Goes. 6 x 10”. Minor wear to fold
creases. Fine to very fine. Est. $50
Union Pacific could point down a path to this current company
Quote:

Union Pacific Resources Group Inc. (NYSE: UPR)
Quote:

Silverdale Mining Corp. is an exploration stage mining company which engages in the development of properties in United States. The company is based in North Vancouver, Canada. As of July 24, 2008, Silverdale Mining Corp. operates as a subsidiary of Silverstar Mining Corp.

Thanks for the info Steve.
The last one you listed should be Silver Dale Mining Co. out of Nevada.
Who could I bring these to for evaluation any idea?
I'm not too good with this searching stuff.
In fact since I found this site I have typed more than I have since high school (1971)
