Lots of weird stuff happens in Bakersfield. Whatever ya do, don't try a high speed chase there.
the cops there will end up re-loading a dozen times before they stop shooting bullets into your dead carcass. They will make sure you are dead and make sure you have a weapon. One dead guy was found to have 14 pistols stuffed into his trousers j/k

I was staying in a cheap motel off the freeway there in the mid 90's and some clowns tried to rob a bank in the valley and head north. Big mistake, the cops forced them off the freeway right in front of my motel and opened up on them. I was hiding behind the bed, musta heard 500 rounds going off before the cops ran out of bullets. A bunch went through the hotel walls but none got into my room.

BTW What do you say to a good looking girl in Bakersfield?
"You ain't from around here, are ya honey?"

the axle came out is all. i was riding in a friend's 60 corvette one night and we exited the freeway onto a surface street when he noticed the left rear tire was way out from the fender. coulda been worse if we were still on the freeway.

I disagree on the circlip coming out. You can see the tire off the rim. If the clip came out, the wheel would be with it.

the clip is in the diff area, the axle would still attached to the wheel. it slides out, supported by the outer end of the housing, then slides back in. not rocket surgery. do you actually think that the wheel put itself back on the studs?

No disrespect meant, Johnbut I know where the clip is as I installed a "c-clip eliminator" kit in my drag car.

I see the tire coming off of the rim in the video and then "remounting" itself back on the wheel.

I tried to stop the video to show that but I can't figure out how to do it.

Send a message via AIM to Gogar
At 1:03-1:04 you can clearly see the tire in one place, and the car/wheel in a different place.

Whatever it is, it's cool!

Yup, that tire is off the car. I does seem almost impossible but in an infinite universe there are infinite possibilities...
