Anyone have LG brand kitchen appliances??

We are looking at replacing our wall-oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. We're probably going to go stainless. We like the bottom-freezer equipped fridges with the French doors and the dishwashers that put the controls on the top edge of the door.

LG so far seems to fit all of our asthetic and feature requirements the best, but I'm worried about reliability

We found a GE fridge that we liked with dual freezer drawers on the bottom, but according to Consumer reports the GE bottom freezer units have the worst repair history of the 3 bottom freezer units that they have listed, so I'm hesitant to go that route.

Basically, we're having a hard time finding 3 units of the same brand (or at least similar appearance) that have the features we want, asthetics that she likes, and reliability.

What a pain in the rear!

LG = Lucky Gold

"aesthetics that she likes" yeah, that will end up driving, and costing. :-/

That is, those with decent reliability and styling will be up in price. My (wife's) kitchen has Electrolux Pro series stainless throughout. The DW is only mediocre IMO. (But it matches!)

Oh, the controls on top are okay. But a display on the front is needed too. Else, its tough to see when the machine is done ...or about to be done.

LG Front load washing machine so far so good.

I have had great luck with their cell phones.
Have a Bosch dishwasher very happy with it. It was recalled waiting to get a part replaced no problems yet.

We saw some electrolux stuff. Really liked the wall-oven, but then I found some stuff online that said that the electrolux refrigerators were basically just rebadged Frigidaires and that they were both crap. I guess that's the problem these days, any idiot with a connection can (and likely will) jump online and tell their horror story about stuff, and it can be hard to sort out the wheat from the chaff.

Fwiw, the first fridge delivered did nothing when plugged in. The second on was just fine.

...other down-sides, the tray under the ice/water dispnc was warpped (heat-gun straightened that out) ...and to pull out the crisper drawers, the door needs to be wide open (else it hits the seal)

Otherwise, it's been great. (happy wife)

Edit: and yes, much of their stuff seems to be rebranded guts with face-lifts, so to speak.

We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel, and went with Miele for the fridge. Why? I don't know. I think my wife picked it because the vegetable drawers 'looked nice'.

*Sigh*

Funnily enough I was talking to an appliance fix-it man today and asked him about LG. He said it was gennerally good stuff.

LG is also one of the biggest sellers in the UK.

Miele is the best German brand around. My mother has some Miele appliances more than 30 years old.

I think Miele brand fridges are made by Liebherr, which is the #1 German fridge maker.

I think your wife made a great chice.

Just don't get the GE. I got their top of the line freezer and fridge and they drain out the bottom something horible. Rusting out the bottom, etc.

The best part seems to be that no matter what sort of appliances we look at, someone somewhere thinks they're crap. That makes the decision so much easier.
