Traffic school in Cali...

Hi,

No, not for me. I still have about 5 months before I am eligible again.

My dad managed to get a speeding ticket and now is trying to decide between a day in school or Internet. I know that things are tougher on the Internet side of things, but is it still possible to finish an online class in under 8 hours?

His feeling is that if it is 8 hours, he'd get lazy and make the online session drag on. He'd rather spend 8 solid hours in a room and be done with it.

So, can anyone say with certainty that it can be done in under 8 hours online? If so, do you happen to have a link to that school?

Thanks!!

No FHE, but don't people boast about spending 15 minutes on the online stuff? They just skip to the test at the end and pass it without having to do all of the instructionals.

My wife did it on line. You don't have to do it in one sitting you can spread the class time out as you please. I think you get a month or something to completed it.

Dan: I know you don't have to do it all at one time, but he would rather just get it done.

Alarick: Yes, I was able to do it very quickly once as well, but I heard that because of this, they force you to sit on a page for a while.

Vash: Did the web page have a timer or could you speed read and go to the next page?

I have done the traffic school that sent you a packet and you basically read through it,and answer all the questions. I did the whole thing in 1 1/2 hours. I did not really read the booklet and went straight to the questions.

You can't do it on line in Orange County, they are very happy to keep you in a room for the full day and brag about the reason. It is punishment and they don't care that you really don't learn anything. You just have to sit there. Mine was boring and the ex cop was a jerk, but that's what they do.

I'd take the cheapest route. How much do the various ways cost? All things considered, I could spend the time, even during the week, to spend less.

He's not into the cheapest route. I was trying to convince him to take care of it online and not ruin a day sitting in a room. He has no problem sitting there an listening to some person talk for 8 hours (7 with breaks). I want the fastest route and figured he wouldn't mind a faster route as well.

Anyway, I will let him know that it is still possible to take the online course in less than 8 hrs. I would not be surprised if he still decides to sit in a room all day. Parents, go figure!

I'm doing an online course today! I finished all the chapters and quizzes in 30 minutes. Then you have to let the timer run down to finish the full duration, but you do not have to do or watch anything during that time. Now I still have to take the final test to get the cert but the whole thing will total maybe 45 minutes actual attentive time spent.

Chris, Thank you for your answer! It's exactly what I needed to know. Is it an 8 hour timer? Could you PM the link to the site you went to? Thanks!

Last time I did online, you couldn't FFWD, the software did not let you... You had to suffer the entire duration, took pretty much the whole time, give or take - the exam you can do faster....

It's a racket.... Next time I'm getting a $100 lawyer and getting a seatbelt violation instead...
