Hi. So I have been a BHTM fan since circa 1991 when on the way to college. Been out of touch since 1996 or so and recently got back into searching for concert dates etc etc. Just looked for videos online and for the first time saw some--back in the day there were no videos online!SO bummed to see the Circle video video with a pittie chained up and trying to get free and all scary lookin'. Surely you understand that using an angry, barking dog in a music video is symbolism. A visual representation of an abstract concept. It's not about a pit bull, or any dog, at all.

Imagine for a moment that you had to do a presentation about "oppression in the 20th century." Maybe it's a powerpoint presentation. While talking about "oppression", you put up a slide of Adolf Hitler on the screen. By using the picture of Hitler, should it be assumed that you ascribe to yourself the ideology or beliefs of Hitler himself? Of course not.

Symbolism and allegory in music videos are by design supposed to illicit a reaction in the viewer. So, mission accomplished, I suppose!

Let me assure you that BHTM are animal lovers all. In fact, just this past June, we donated around $10,000 of the proceeds from our annual Red Rocks concert to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and the Denver Dumb Friends League.
