can't get oil spots out of my black t shirts

girls and guys, it seems like even laundry soap has been EPA'd lately. i pull a black t shirt out of the dryer and it still has oil spots on it. i use "spray and wash": too. what the H is the deal? anyone have any wash day miracles up their sleeves? i wear black t shirts almost every day for work and i like to start the day looking somewhat cleaned up.

Soak the whole shirt in the same oil that stained it, works every time, guaranteed you won't see the stain.

"Soil Love" (brand name), use to pre treat. I've found this to be about the only thing to remove the old sulfer based cutting oils used in machine shops. Should work. I get it at Von's Markets here in So Cal.
Also Dawn dish detergent is great at cutting all kinds of oil and grease. I've never tried it on clothes though.

One of the non pumice shop hand cleaners...the kind you're supposed to use waterless. Rub it in the oil, let it sit 15 minutes. Then toss in the wash. I've also had luck with simple green, but the waterless hand cleaner seems to work best. Stuff is great for getting pitch off your hands, too.

John - PM me your shipping address. I will send you something that should work. We make a product that will remove the stain safely without ruining your clothes.

If they have your logo on them you should sell them, actual shirt used in the shop.
I don't really need one right now but who knows.

John = I use Tide in my wash and anything that doesn't wash out the first go-around, I pour a little Tide full strength on the stain. Let it soak in until the next wash.

Best,
Tom

John, I have used old school go jo like pwd stated above, it worked pretty well, rubbed it into the stains let sit for a while, and sent through the wash machine.

How many shirts do you think you can stain in one day? I could send you, say 300 shirts sizes 12M to 12, you could tape them to the front of your shirts, they'd get dirty, your shirts stay clean, I get cool Ts for Spring 10.

both of us win.

No joke - try Oxy-Clean. My wife used it to get the wine stains out of my bro-in-law's tablecoths - worked like a charm. It really works well. Of course I wonder if that stuff is made from the same stuff as Agent Orange, but what you don't know won't kill ya, right?!?

If that brand name doesn't look familiar, I should write it the way the former TV pitchman, the late Billy Mays said it:

Try OXY-CLEAN!!!

Simple Green works for me. I have sensative skin so I tend to use arm and hammer liquid soap and use Borax as a booster for cleaning stained clothes. Works well with my situation, gets out "most" stains including oil that has not fully set. I am assuming you have cotton not poly/cotton shirts? Polyester holds onto oil stains if I remember correctly.
