Wiedeking´s last cigarr at the Porsche wheel.
He has done a brave and talented job in the drivers seat and God knows he got a healthy pay check for it. He probably will afford to drive a Porsche in the future too.

Kinda makes me sad to see Porsche go into the VW wallet...
Would have been nice to see it the other way... Damn you, crisis!

I wish I could make 50 million euros for bankrupting my company.

I'd do it for half that.
Interesting to see what the future brings for Porsche now that they are a VW brand. I'd argue that VW ownership has been great for Lamborghini, so hopefully things improve at Porsche, as well. I have been disheartened by Porsche's foray into obese trucks and ugly sedans, and I wonder what VW will do with that. Cayenne is too big a money spinner, but the Panamera has to lose money, doesn't it? I'm curious what VW will do with regards to the product overlap with Audi, since the 911/R8, Panamera/A8, and Cayenne/Q7 are all competitors.

Much of the impetus behind the Cayenne and the Panamera are the Eastern European and China markets. VAG is already a big player there and the product portfolios will fit well together -- the Q8 will go, the Panamera and A8 will merge. It actually makes sense, all already distributed by Piech-owned Porsche Salzburg. Weideking is being forced to donate most of his Golden Handshake to charity; he still managed to loot the company pretty comprehensively.
