Stijn!!

Back from the track. Rain came in so I bailed. I suspect they closed the track since lightning came in. Corner workers don't much like lightning.

That is a fun track. Several corners are at triple digit speeds even in my slow car.

I got a ride in a Camen R. The driver knew that track real well. It was awesome how much faster he can take a corner. I also got a ride in a 87 Carrera from an instructor. His car has about 255 hp several other tweaks. With Race rubber he has amazing brakes. He was lots faster than I was but not even close to the Camen.

Final banquet is done. Parade is over. We just took down most of the luggage to the car. One or two small bags in the morning and we are outta here.

Planning to get to Little Rock AR tomorrow.

Swung through Omaha and stopped at the Strategic Air and Space museum. Well worth the stop if you are in the area. Very big place with lots of planes... B52, B36, B17, B1A, Sr71, U2, Mig21..... And quite a few more....

In Wichita now, home tomorrow....

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 08:54 PM

sounds cool. did you take any pictures?

slodave 08-06-2011 08:55 PM

Apparently not... Sheesh.

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 08:57 PM

Dave did you see the news where some 75 year old lady in a piper cub got to close to the pres.

slodave 08-06-2011 08:59 PM

Yeah. Not the news, but the thread here. But, then I did read the article.

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 09:00 PM

not cool but jeeze f16 vs a cub.

slodave 08-06-2011 09:03 PM

Radar can't tell what type of plane it is. :) Routine incident, as far as things go.

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 09:05 PM

best plane I ever got a ride in was a t-6 texan (old prop trainer) fully aero and painted to original navy colors.

slodave 08-06-2011 09:10 PM

Of all the planes I have been around, I have not actually been up in most of them. Best memory was in a Super Decathlon aerobatic, getting thrown around for an hour. Roller coasters bore me now.

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 09:13 PM

i bet. sounds like fun.

One more practice show this Sunday. Three to four more practice times this week and then a big show next Sunday for Connor.

by LZ... Tabs have it one way, the live video of a Zep concert shows another and a YT video has it a 3rd. YT and the Zep vid are the closest. Arrrg! :D

Make sure to video/tape the big day. :)

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 09:25 PM

will try but its set up like a regular concert. we drop him at the stage door and go find seats. might not have the best view to shoot from.

slodave 08-06-2011 09:27 PM

Bribe the soundboard dude. :D

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 09:28 PM

I like the way you think. Beer, pizza and cash!

slodave 08-06-2011 09:29 PM

Make sure that Conner knows (understands) that it's OK if a screw up happens during a song and to just plow on, don't fumble right after. Most people will never even notice!

Porsche-poor 08-06-2011 09:32 PM

So far he is spot on but then again this crowd will be much larger. He impressed Neil Citron the other night. I just hope it goes well. They have to perform two original songs and one cover. They also have several covers for encore if needed. If they come out on top they head to a studio the next week to record it.
