Or he is thinking "this explains alot about dad". Great picture by the way.

lol! it probably does. you have no idea how that first hearing of 'the wall' affected my youth. nor the backstory that fostered that effect.

nynor 08-24-2011 06:19 PM

us. still watching 'pompeii':

this picture shows one of the highlights of my life: being with my son, enjoying some incredible music. counterpointed by my first experience with 'floyd', perhaps during the lowest part of my life.

Time lapse. Before and after.

complete utter fkn chaos of my home life, at age ten, and worse. 1979. what a year. and it was only the beginning.

Well done.

nynor 08-24-2011 06:38 PM

an appropriate reaction to me singing along:

as an aside, watching david gilmour's reaction to roger waters' monologue about steve, (their?) producer, is very telling.

Never too young to start them on Floyd. :) My kids still thank me for messing them up right out of the gate.

Porsche-poor 08-24-2011 07:08 PM

I just thank god my kid likes rock. My niece like country, I just can't go there EVER!!!!

slodave 08-24-2011 07:08 PM

D, not home at the moment. I can tell you how to get at the audio a bit later.

nynor 08-24-2011 07:13 PM

one more observation and i will shut up about floyd, for the evening.

it is interesting, to me, that there are references to 'the wall' in 'pompeii', which is approximately the same vintage as 'dark side of the moon', ~1973. this a good long time for a theme to incubate. i understand that the common argument is that 'the wall' was conceived ~1977, but listen to live in pompeii and dark side of the moon. it was all there.

nynor 08-24-2011 07:15 PM

ok, one FINAL observation:

i've liked pink floyd for a long time. lately, however, i've found it to be the best damn music to listen to whilst carving canyons on the motorcycle. (i only started listening to music on the motorcycle this year.)

amen. country music is an oxymoron.

i do like johnny cash and jace everett. they are both dark.

Rick V 08-24-2011 07:17 PM

Listening to country music will make you want to do West Virginia types of things to your neighbors dog

Porsche-poor 08-24-2011 07:18 PM

Can't even do that. Will run from room. Right now I have a little local band playing, little rock/funk thing going.

GH85Carrera 08-24-2011 07:19 PM

Stijn!!

Good night guys.

porsche4life 08-24-2011 07:19 PM

I don't like country, but growing up around here, you have to be able to at least stand it or you will go stark raving mad.
