Whew! Excitement... Strange phone call from North Carolina... "Security Central, AC power out, please call ASAP".... Huh?? Who is Security Central? Call back.. Oh, company that I guess is contracted to monitor my parents home alarm.. They confirm power is out.. Strange.. Grab a gun and drive over. Turns out the entire block is out... Phew. Nothing major, except for all the food that may be tossed in the AM. Almost all the phones in the house are cordless and useless. The only corded phone is in the guest room and pretty sure the ringer is off.

Grew up around them. Even have a hunting license :) I keep a .22 Winchester lever for plinking. A pistol of a larger caliber would be nice one day, but it's not high up there on the priority list.
