The changing of the seasons is taking it's toll on my hips. Arthritis is fun at an early age. Can't wait until I'm 80.

Cold & Flu - Chicken Broth and Garlic Powder. Put garlic powder and cayenne pepper in some chicken broth, heat and sip. Will keep your throat from getting sore and help your white blood cells find the invaders. The reason you ache all over is your white blood cells are everywhere and not just where the invaders are attacking your body. There is something in chicken broth that helps the white blood cells only go where they are needed. Garlic powder is a great antiseptic and helps your digestive system fend off bugs. The cayenne pepper has huge amounts of non-acidic vitamin C. Combined with the fat from the chicken broth it will stick to your throat and keep it from getting raw. If you lose your voice, the chicken broth with garlic powder and cayenne pepper will bring it back in 10 minutes.

Also french bread with lots of butter, garlic powder a slice of mozzerella and a sprinkling of cayenne pepper toasted.

Just a tablespoon of vinegar in a full glass of salt water. Sure helps to flush the mucus out and relieve the inflammation.

slodave 10-02-2011 07:50 PM

A teaspoon of sugar, makes the medicine go down....

If it tastes good when you aren't sick, you didn't use enough garlic powder or cayenne pepper.

When the wife and I first moved up here and lived in an apartment we used to dread the military deployments and returns from deployments.
