Whatcha talking about? Weather is always perfect out here...
|
Webbster, (forgot your first name, sorry, ;))
If this is an American car, then yes, they are most likely original. But since you are importing it to Europe, and absolutely nobody likes those sugarscoops here, you should change them into H4's. (value of the vehicle will not decrease because you did not keep it original, don't worry.) Even in the states, a lot of Porsche owners change to H4. (same goes for those wiiiiide bumperettes...) Try to find a nice used set, they're out there, and choose between a chrome ring or one painted in body color. (I would say bodycolor, since you have no chrome anywhere else on the vehicle) |

What do you mean? Today, in Oregon's Willamette Valley, I raked leaves, cleaned the driveway & patio of storm debris, and mowed the lawn. |
I meant the guys that have been complaining about the cold wet and snow.
And you mowed? WTF for? It's stopped growing by now.... |
Thanks, G.
Yes, it's unfortunately a sunroof, AC, US car Like these: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/508444-h4-headlights-paintable-rings.html ?? It's Jeff |
Yup Jeff that's what you need.
|
You obviously have never lived in Oregon's Willamette Valley...lol! Actually, when I emptied the mower's bag, it contained more leaves and needles than grass. A way to clean up the lawn...
|
The grass never stops growing here...

Those are the lights you want. Try to look closer at home as well, avoid shipping charges. (Jeff... right, I knew that... :) ) Ebay, sold seperately.... Ebay, USA, not too expensive... |
well, the car is in CT and I could have them match the paint while they do the body work so that would make sense. what are those lights worth? guy wants $300, all the other lights I saw were going for under $200.

"One Bosch headlight assembly with paintable ring for Porsche" makes it 500 for the pair, w/o bulbs... |

And it's 500 dollars, which is like monopoly money.... (about 335 euro, without painting.) |
Right. I forgot about the "monopoly money factor"!
:D |
what about import taxes in Norway?
|
Why not just get the H4 bulbs for the sugar scoops?
|
That's the fun part.
Any car over 30 years is considered classic/vintage/collector and thus void of duties. I will pay 25% sales tax on the sales value of the car, however. the f%&#ers even charge you VAT on the shipping! Just for fun I looked into a 2002 911 that someone had listed here on PP. the guy was asking around 30 for the car but the import duties were $45K and then sales tax on top of that!! 150% of the value of the car!! what's even more scarry is that you could probably importat that car, pay the taxes and STILL sell if for profit! To me the fact that Porsches were basically unchanged up to 88, together with how reliable they are, makes them ideal import cars for this country. |
Morning Ya'll

Jeezus Rick, I haven't even had my second cup of coffee and I'm still in my PJ's!
|
Morning Rick!

Dave, you and your weather updates, you remind me of my daughter. She likes to call me just to give me her beach report.
Jeff, someone has to make sure the roosters are awake soon, I have been elected. :) |
