Good morning guys.
On the commute in today the traffic was almost none. I love it. I wish it were like that all the time. Even when it is bad is is nothing like most other cities. I could not stand LA, Atlanta, Houston or Dallas type traffic. I suspect the phone will not ring and no customers will come in. A nice quiet day. |
same here, i'm bored out of my skulll
Thankfully the internet is working!
But i do run out of things to do on the interwebs.. cause i'm online so often already, it's difficult to find stuff i haven't seen yet.
Have any of you guys used OOMA?
I am checking out the web site. Free Home Phone Service | Ooma It looks interesting. We have a landline mostly for the buglar alarm. To be able to drop my monthly phone bill and keep my number is something I will check out further. |
My broadband cable provider offers something similar with the internet modem.. costs next to nothing
but i don't see the point, i have a cell phone.. |
Yeah I dropped the land line here as well.
I would drop the land line except for my burglar & fire alarm. I may check out getting a new alarm controller that uses the internet to monitor the alarm. I would like a system that has more motion detectors, and video monitoring for the three entry doors & the garage. That is probably way too expensive for my cheap ass budget.
Just ditch the landline, if they ever break in, claim the landline stolen to the insurance along with the rest.
Burglary is not the real reason for the phone monitoring, It's FIRE dude. Besides, WHY would you pay for a monitored alarm system, then disconnect the monitoring connection?
If the phone line is disconnected the monitor company gets an alarm on the system. At least mine does. I guess it calls every so often to check in or something. Same at my house with the land line. Except mainly use my alarm system for one of those "I've fallen and can't get up" pendant thingies for my Mom. |
