Off course ,that's all part of the scam, they think they are yapping up an old, lonely dude, with money.
And they'll do their best to make this old , lonely dude think it's not 'bout the money, but about a genuine Rusky girl who has had nothing but bad luck with Rusky dudes who drink , gamble and beat the nice, friendly, innocent rusky girl.
And this nice girl desperately wants a nice, western gentlemen who will treat her nice, and in return she'll be his loving wife...

It's all about making the mark think she is more in need for true love then him, and he's already pretty desperate.. Doing so, the mark falls into a psychological trap, thinking he has something to offer her, starts to believe it might be true, that she's a real person, and then he falls in love ... once that happens, love , is blind, and rational thinking goes out the window.. Which is when they start to work the finances..

The thing that stumps me , is that they are so terribly bad at the scam..
this one does not even try to read, they just fire off big ass mails , one after the other, without working the "mark".. It's brute force, so it would have to be a bonafide sucker to not see through it. Yet i'm sure they find suckers like that , PT Barnum said it , not gonna repeat it.

I've had more subtle scammers in the past, and it's more fun that way, cause it's a more difficult to lead em on with funny stories and emails.. This one, well it's just silly, i've posted such effed up crap, and still they don't see through it..
I think this one doesn't understand a word of english and works with templates he got somewhere..

Howdy gents. Hows life? Good holidays I trust?

Porsche-poor 12-27-2011 10:45 AM

Not to bad how were yours?

GH85Carrera 12-27-2011 10:47 AM

Howdy Pete. Good holidays here. How about you?

nynor 12-27-2011 11:13 AM

holidays were awesome, here.

sid i have that CPU in hand. now to see if it will work with my MB.

porsche4life 12-27-2011 11:18 AM

Good luck!

Icemaster 12-27-2011 11:29 AM

Holiday's were wonderful, no dysfunctional family drama or bail money needed this year. There's always next year I guess. All in all it was damn nice. I have one day today to sit on the home office and pretend to work then it's clear til next Tuesday.

What's this about Stijn getting married...?

porsche4life 12-27-2011 11:33 AM

I feel like the bail money needed comment has a good story in it.... Fess up Pete...

And we had a bit of dysfunctional family drama, but it was manageable....

Icemaster 12-27-2011 11:45 AM

LOL. The only good story associated with that dates back to high school and a couple of friends that got arrested over Christmas break for steaming up the windows of the car while it was parked in the back lot of the girls high school. The nun's weren't amused for some reason. That was a priceless phone call on Christmas Eve. "Man, do NOT call my parents, can I borrow $50?".

no workie. motherboard must be bad. that is gonna suck, as i'll have to buy a motherboard and new RAM. bollocks.

what are the odds that the power supply would post an old old old MB and CPU but not this one? i am thinking the odds are about nil.

porsche4life 12-27-2011 11:48 AM

Why not just buy a whole new box? Should be some good sales right now...

huh.... why didn't i think of that? oh, yeah, because my money tree just burned down.

porsche4life 12-27-2011 12:01 PM

Well, how much money are you going to be throwing at components trying to patch something together?

nynor 12-27-2011 12:10 PM

i found a MB on new egg that will definitely work, and if the old CPU is still good, it will work for it, too, for $54 and the current RAM i have will also work. so, worst case scenario, i find that the power supply is also bad, total will be <$120 for a fairly fast system.

nynor 12-27-2011 12:12 PM

oh, and i will still be able to use both of my 512MB video cards.

GH85Carrera 12-27-2011 12:25 PM

You sound like me when it comes to computers. The computer I have at home I built from parts and pieces. It is 8 years old and still works fine. Slow but fine. My wife hates the speed since she is used to her office computer. All I do at home is email and surf the net. I run Quickbooks for my personal finances and I am the treasure for the local PCA region so I run Quickbooks as well. It is still on Windows XP.

Every time my wife asks me to buy a faster computer I tell her to let me borrow her debit card and I will order on today. So far she has refused.

GH85Carrera 12-27-2011 12:29 PM

I had to clone the old hard drive and replace it with a bigger drive a few months ago. The old drive was starting to die so clone the drive.

When I bought my 27 inch monitor I had to dig in the computer junk pile here at work and found a AGP video card with enough RAM to run at the proper resolution and refresh rate.

GH85Carrera 12-27-2011 12:30 PM

I guess if I played video games I would have to upgrade my computer. Since I don't even play Freecell I don't worry about it.
