It sucks because if I take my bike to class as usual I get spray all over me even if it is not raining. And I need to safely store my glasses while riding since they will be way wet and dirty upon arrival and I would have no dry, clean shirt to clean them with either. If I walk, then it takes me 3 times as long to get to class and walking = no fun. Then I get back home and am soaked so have to change clothes. But during the day I need to sitting in class all wet.

run really fast.

Flieger 01-19-2012 03:57 PM

That doesn't look so graceful with a backpack on, and didn't Mythbusters bust that myth? Although the convertible did stay drier at higher speed.

Walking is good exercise

Flieger 01-19-2012 03:59 PM

Rain and long periods of clouds are the reason I would not want to live in Washington year-round.

I get plenty of exercise on my bike. Cal Poly is built on a hill.

If I had a girlfriend that liked walking, I would walk, though. I would not give up riding, but I would do all three. (yes, three);)

Go to eastern Washington then, it is the complete opposite.

Do they have the volcanoes and rivers and ocean and greenery there?

porsche4life 01-19-2012 04:03 PM

Ain't you own a rain jacket Max?

Flieger 01-19-2012 04:04 PM

I got something that is not permeable to water, but my shorts, shoes, socks, and backpack still get wet.

Flieger 01-19-2012 04:05 PM

I tried looking for something like those little booties that are worn in clean rooms around shoes, but in a tougher, waterproof material so that my feet do not need to be in wet socks and shoes all day, but I can't find anything that fits my needs.

Noah930 01-19-2012 04:05 PM

Why don't you get shorts, shoes, socks and backpack made out of the same material, then?

Flieger 01-19-2012 04:06 PM

Uh, that is more expensive, and I haven't exactly seen those items.

Porsche-poor 01-19-2012 04:06 PM

later guys. Time to fix dinner.

Post # 45625 would have been funnier had it followed #45623 directly, instead of being interrupted by #45624.

Flieger 01-19-2012 04:06 PM

Eastern Washington (admittedly I've never been), if it's anything like Eastern Oregon (where I have visited), is quite dry. Like San Joaquin Valley dry.

Flieger 01-19-2012 04:11 PM

I like it just fine where I am at. Australia was pretty nice, though. A lot like the climate/weather here. New Zealand's winter was a bit wet, but made everything green.
