svandamme 02-10-2012 10:57 AM

W00t, going to cinema with kid sis tomorrow!

GH85Carrera 02-10-2012 11:08 AM

We will likely do a movie this weekend.

The autocross on Sunday looks like a bust. The HIGH is supposed to be mid 30s. Sorry I just don't want to play when it is that cold. I will skip this one.

Porsche-poor 02-10-2012 11:11 AM

afternoon guys. Don't know what the weekend will have in store for me.

GH85Carrera 02-10-2012 11:11 AM

Sanding on wood?

svandamme 02-10-2012 11:17 AM

it got plenty lined up,

tomorrow, sleep out, eat something, load 400 rounds on the Dillon, go to cinema with kid sis (war horse / jack and jill / the descendants haven't made up mind yet), then eat out, beer

sunday , sleep out, winter BBQ with buddy coming over, beer. run out the sunday for what's left of it.

If I have the time that would be the plan.

porsche4life 02-10-2012 11:59 AM

Glen dad and I have already to decided to scrub out too. Shame since I've got those fancy new brakes to try.

Porsche-poor 02-10-2012 12:14 PM

30 degrees that be a bit cold.

GH85Carrera 02-10-2012 12:14 PM

Yea, my summer tires suck when the temps are that cold.

svandamme 02-10-2012 12:15 PM

We had -10 C for the last week or so... i don't have winter tires.. Didn't bother me one bit.

GH85Carrera 02-10-2012 12:17 PM

My tires are summer tires. Not even all season tires. The are not reccomended for cold weather.

porsche4life 02-10-2012 12:23 PM

How do you think my RA1s would fare??? ;)

Some people once tried to argue with me there are no all season tires and that i'm running summer tires
personally i find the whole discussion about winter tires overrated.. sure if you live in the friggin mountains, or in alaska, do get em.
but we get like 20 freezing days a year, if it's a strong winter .. so i fail to see how winter tires are impossible to do without.

Typically i see folks drive faster because of having winter tires.. which completely negates the advantage.. I'de rather have em all on all weathers, and learn to ffing drive.

Next Bimmer will have winter tires, boss bought into the hype and made it mandatory..fine, as long as he's paying for them.. It's annoying that now i'll have to do at least 2 extra stops at the garage to swap tires.. Obviously that will happen on company time.

HHI944 02-10-2012 12:42 PM

Argh.....I hate hate hate hate this stupid dodge and I hate hate hate geico.......I want this pos back so I can pawn it off on some poor sucker and plant my ass in an S600

GH85Carrera 02-10-2012 12:49 PM

My last set of Yokohama tires for the 911 were all season tires. They had decent grip in the cold weather and even ice & snow. I had to drive with my current Toyo summer tires in bad weather and they sucked. Since I autocross a lot I chew up tires fairly quick. I have the records of all the tires I have bought for my 911 over the last 16 years. I have no intention of ever running that report.

tomorrow, it's loading time! 450 rounds of .45 , 200 grain Lead SWC

should last me a couple of months :D

Have you tried 185's in your gun? I find they run a little flatter and don't start to drop as fast. (you can watch a 230 fall out of the barrel)

svandamme 02-10-2012 01:46 PM

had some 195, the thing is , the lower you go the more powder you need...
Ballistically at 25 meter, there is no drop yet if you run your loads up to spec.
230 grain only starts to go down at 70 yards or so..

Rick V 02-10-2012 01:47 PM

I find I get along best with the lighter rounds and my gun does not like anything lead so I shoot 195 JHP
