I got ya Rick, just letting you know that OK doesn't suck so bad... I mean hell its been in the 50s and 60s most of the winter.... ;)

I get the principle, but like I said, the high cost of entry can make it tricky. Even saving up, it takes awhile for some of us to smack down a cool half mill for a building. It helps to be working in an industry that makes damned good money....

Then it's a good decision you got out of pharm.

That was not a financial decision... That was a Sid would have the overwhelming urge to swallow hot lead if he had to go to that job everyday....

See I chose the path of a good honest hard days work in the trades, and lost all of my savings and investments because of the poor planning on the part of others. True I could have payed closer attention to my investments but it was all doing good at a slow and steady pace. By the time I realized I need to move and move fast it was too late. The rental sale was the only thing I managed to time well. Having to start over again in my early 40's has been a real slap in the face with a dead tuna.

I realize that. But in the near future, there will be a cap on how much pharmacists make. And then that cap will start trending downward. Just like how it has for me. Every year I make 1-2% less than the year before. That's (effectively) the law.

That's true. Cosmetics is really the only part of medicine where the American concept of free-market capitalism is in effect. Not saying that's good or bad or right or wrong. It just is. That and maybe the few concierge-type practices that exist.

Porsche-poor 03-08-2012 05:03 PM
