Oh dear god .....I WANT her to hurt me...

HHI944 03-09-2012 08:14 AM

We'll, the cigar lounge is back open.....they found some poor sucker willing to work 80hrs/wk for 35k/yr........

They approached me about the job and u told em 3x that......they laughed, I didn't........be interesting to see how long this guy lasts....

GH85Carrera 03-09-2012 08:28 AM

100k per year is never gonna happen for an employee unless he sells the wacky weed as well. Local & Federal laws make that kinda risky.

porsche4life 03-09-2012 10:08 AM

Umm, given the work involved, and the skills required, 35k doesn't sound too bad.

It would take a million per year to get me to stand around in a stinky cigar lounge. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gif

I would rather work at the sewage treatment plant.

svandamme 03-09-2012 10:27 AM

i'm sure they'de want you to work, not just stand around...

Wow, y'all have been busy today. That took ages to come up to speed. We're down on the Great Ocean Rd in Victoria (where Vas hails from) now. Plan on some sight seeing in the morn, will post some pics.

Jeff, spent a few holidays down that way. Loved the twelve apostles the tiny little beaches, before the london bridge collapsed. The Port Campbell Pub, used to be owned by a friends parents so spent a few lost weekends down there as well. Used to climb down the cliffs set of stairs and go to a small beach below the cliffs, which had a tunnel that went to one of the other small beaches. And the huge blowhole cavern, everything is spectacular, take heaps of photos and get out of bed early to get pictures of the apostles, and in the sunset as well.

:D

Im not saying it's terribly difficult work, but at nearly 80hrs/wk...35k works out ti well below minimum wage and about half the hourly wage one can make flipping burgers on the island.

GH85Carrera 03-09-2012 12:47 PM

I would think that the laws about working overtime would apply.

I have worked some 80 and 90 hour weeks. There is no time for anything but work, eat, work, and a little sleep, work. I was getting overtime however.

overtime is a job classification issue. I used to get time and a half but now that I am sort of a manager I get straight time for antthing over 40. Now the wife is a lawyer and before she was a partner she was on a salary no o.t. working lots of hours.

Rick V 03-09-2012 01:13 PM

I am so glad I only work 40 now. 20 years of a 60 hour work week had gotten old

Evening Y'all

Porsche-poor 03-09-2012 01:21 PM

Hey Rick is it possible the power pole is in an easement in which case you might just have a fight on your hands.

svandamme 03-09-2012 01:23 PM

Pretty sure Rick knows exactly what fight he picked :D
