HHI,

Mmmmmmm... Chocolate covered peeps. Just picked up five of them.

Excuse me while I devour them....

Home made pork green chili was good.

I have said before I love my droid x. The wife and oldest son have droid ii phones. All without issues. I have tempted to get the new droid razor but like the iphone has a factory sealed battery. Not sure I care for that.

My stew turned out excellent and I'll be eating it for days! :)
The pup is doing beautifully!

I just had some chocolate covered Matzah. Pretty good, actually. I suppose that's more a function of the chocolate, than the Matzah.

Grrr. GD birds. SLODave knows how infrequently I wash my car. So, taking advantage of today's gorgeous weather, I washed the car with my daughter. Afterwards, I actually took the time to wax it, too, this time with my son. Heard a splat and some freakin' bird divebombed the side of the door (and my back). Fortunately, I had already waxed (though not polished) the door, so the stuff just slid off. But still, I'm rootin' for my cats (and the local red tailed hawk) more than ever this spring.

Its sunny out so guess what the 911 is dead. Had it been rainy the bat would be fine.

Meeting up with the aerobics instructor tomorrow night and the girl whose dad has a d type early next week.....actually, looked at the pics again and think it's an xkss. Just a notch above barn find quality though.

You know me Sid, all about keeping it classy!

Oh yeah, got pulled over in the jag today......50 in a 45.......didn't get a ticket, told him id welcome the jury trial where he could explain to a dozen tax paying locals how he thought harassing locals was an efficient use of his time and thus their money

nynor 04-07-2012 06:26 PM

we don't get a jury trial, here, for traffic violations. unless they involve something involving a misdemeanor or felony. like going triple digits.... ;)

nynor 04-07-2012 06:31 PM

sid, you need to drive a 749. i have driven one. the ride was sublime. it did not have the same grunt out of corners as my SS, but the finesse level was much much higher.

HHI944 04-07-2012 06:35 PM

They try to convince you here that you don't get a jury trial for minor traffic offenses, but that's bs. The citation used the phrase 'criminal' you get a jury.......regardless of what some local yahoo judge thinks....

porsche4life 04-07-2012 06:36 PM

I'd like to get on one for sure, and I'm sure it would have tons of grunt for me. I'm a little guy, and the only time ive been on a big bike was short trip on a 750 virago....

porsche4life 04-07-2012 06:41 PM

Still don't love the headlights....
2004 Ducati 749

Noah930 04-07-2012 06:41 PM

The XKSS was the street version of the D-type.

I haven't ridden a 749, but I took a test ride on a 999S. That's with the testastretta motor (not the earlier desmoquattro, that dates back to the original 851 design). It's also the same motor found in the Monster S4RS (which was what I interested in, at that time--so I wanted to see what the motor was like). Holy jeebsus, was there power everywhere. It wasn't even breathing hard and I was doing felonious speeds. And the steering felt like it was hard-wired into my brain. You think and you're there.

nynor 04-07-2012 06:41 PM

exactly what i am talking about. have you looked at the specs for the 848? that is a LOT of bike for someone that weighs 150lbs wet and carrying a couple of gallons of milk home.

the power delivery of the 748 and 749 is simply better than butter. the handling of both bikes is confidence inspiring and forgiving. i think my next bike will be one of those two. not to say i would scoff at an 848, don't get me wrong.

vas930 04-07-2012 06:41 PM

Had 6 or 7 of these things.
Great fun when you are young. :)
Great dirt bike the KTM.

The 749/999 actually looks better in person than in pics. But yeah, I'm not a fan of the controversial styling, either. I'm sure that helps keep resale prices a little lower, which is a good thing on the buying end of the transaction.
