Wish I could give you advice, but the world has moved on since I was in the game some 25 years ago.

Besides, my wife picked me up.

All I can offer is holisitc, swami-esque advice a-la 'a rolling stone gathers no moss'.

Regardless dude, life is up to you, it's what you want to make it.

I'm done now. Go knock em dead.

That's deep. It doesn't really help, but it's deep. :D

To continue with doing what I know and what I enjoy, or to go out and try new things with the risk of failure but the chance of having a lot more fun? I am feeling like the latter is what I really should do. But other commitments and obligations get in the way sometimes.

Oh yeah, update on the roadside assistance aerobics instructor.......went out had a good time, my bsc radar was going off the whole time and I didn't feel like having to punch myself in the nuts so sticking to just friends. Who knows, she could have equally attractive, but less crazy friends

No, I meant the problem with closing the facebook account? It would not take much for me to do that.

My music instructor said that they still have local bands/singers at some coffee houses around here. Like folk music - early Dylan type stuff. It might be worth going to one of those. If I can find out when they are and if I can make it.

Just block the crazies....

A good friend told me once that if you ain't failing, you ain't trying. You don't need to make the opportunity, just be prepared to take advantage of them when arrive. Right place, right time, all that silliness.

You can do it, dont psych yourself out. Remember that us geeks rule the world.

I'm lucky. No crazies on my FB. There's no one following it at all. :)

I've come to realize that. Earlier in my life it was tough as I had to be right all the time in order to maintain my status/reputation. Or at least I felt that way. Luckily stuff was easier back then and I did really well. But, that was at the expense of social interaction. Didn't help that I went to an all-boys Catholic high school. We did have events with a 'sister school' where some of the girls from my gradeschool went, but I never went to dances of course. Well, I think I had to go to one at some point. I can't remember when that was. No wait, tow. There was something in 8th grade around graduation and then something in high school. Anyway, the high school one was really painful. Caged in there with a suit and tie, having to sit around, no computers, listening to loud music I didn't like.

Well it is very complicated, and blocking will actually cause more trouble. Oh well

This brings back memories. It is what first got me into classic rock:

Lately I have been into this kind of Zepp sound, along with acid rock.

I still like this, though:

I hear ya Max, I went to an all boys Jesuit school, same thing. Dances and social stuff were just a showcase, kind of like a concours points event. This was in the 80's when materialism was openly lauded.

Took until I was past college to realize it's all about doing what you want to do. That's what you're naturally good at, and THAT's what the quality women were attracted to.

Flieger 04-10-2012 02:10 PM

All things considered I wouldn't change a thing I did up through high school. No regrets.

slodave 04-10-2012 02:16 PM

A lot of hot chicks around your laptop, Max? :D
