Looks like I logged in at the right time :D

Happy Birthday Joe

Outback Porsche 07-02-2012 04:55 PM

got this in a email this morning. haha

I saw a bumper sticker on a parked car in Sydney that read 'I miss Alice Springs'.
So I broke the windows, took the wireless and left half a dozen empty VB tinnies on the front seat with a note that read, 'I hope this helps'

You would not want me singing to you. Sorry to disappoint you, Joe. Thought you fellas would know I was joking. When I finish my dance classes, I will send you a video of that. :)

I am so OK with all of those variables!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

slodave 07-02-2012 05:03 PM

The Demon Drink - TIME

Outback Porsche 07-02-2012 05:11 PM

It's not cheap up here at more than $50 a carton, but it is one of the drinks of choice.

All alcohol up here is expensive, even the chattel cardboard, aimed at discouraging the activities in the photo and the associated antisocial behaviors. We even have restricted selling hours (prohibition to some degree). None of it works. If it can't be bought, it gets stolen from homes and businesses.

evening guys.

$50 a carton? is that a 'case' of 24 beers? i've been reading a bit about the crime problems and alcohol in alice springs.

good evening.

Yup. 2 doz to a carton (or slab) and 30 cans to a brick (or block). So how do our problems look to the outside world? Recently we were given the name of 'the stabbing capital of the world'.

G'day David

It's not always just in one spot....there's usually a trail leading to a spot like this, and the police usually bust it up pretty quick (especially if in public view). There's still plenty of mess though.
