from that urban dictionary link...

Fanta Pants - red or orange hair as the genetic result of gingivitis.

Ah ha ha ha...Better floss! And get going with that toothpaste.

My wife had a Full Suspension. I had a sip and it was good. I started with a Chasing Tail and had a Provo Girl with Dessert.

At every Parade I have ever been to (11 total) I was never close to the start of the line for food. Tonight there were probably 800 folks ready to eat. Everyone was outside in the shade, but still hot. We looked around for a seat and the only place open was the indoor air conditioned rooms. I noticed they were setting up a buffet line at the area in the air-conditioned hall. We grabbed a table next to the bar that had no line. Tonight I was first in line for the food. Great fruit, and a ton of great selections, and freaking PRIME RIB! I asked for two thick pieces and it was great. One piece would be a standard restaurant serving. Roasted chicken and green beans, scalloped potatoes, and several dishes I could not fit on my plate. Fresh peach cobbler BURP! There were 8 buffet lines so the line went fast, but I was in the lead of one of them.

Before the food line started I saw a friend John T. and his wife and two kids. I chased them down and told them we had a prime spot. They agreed it was the best spot in the place.

Tomorrow is the car show.

More pictures to follow!

The hotel is one fancy place. The bathrooms have cloth towels to dry your hands. Marble floors and art is everywhere.

This is just part of the lobby.

Ok, one last episode of x files on netflix via my nifty appletv then off to bed......gotta work tomorrow........
Gotta finish this Arrogant Bastard too....

slodave 07-08-2012 09:16 PM

Joe, the outside of the humidor has been finish sanded and is just about ready for the poly finish. Time to order the Spanish cedar and hinges. Once has the "finish" on, I can then glue the cedar into the box and it will be done.

HHI944 07-08-2012 09:26 PM

Can't wait to see pics!
Where are you getting your cedar?
From what I've seen, rockler has the best selection of sizes and pricing for small orders.

slodave 07-08-2012 09:33 PM

Couple of pix from tonight.

Sanding the top and bottom for a better fit. Sandpaper is glued to a thick piece of glass.

Nice fit, but the edges have to be chamfered or over time, the sharp edges will break.

As for the cedar, not sure yet. I'll call a few local places first. I know that there is suitable stuff online to be had.

Hmm. Didn't know who he was at the time, but I met Fireball Tim at the top of Stunt this afternoon.

Cool.

slodave 07-08-2012 09:55 PM

Joe, just checked Rockler and I don't think it will work. The sell it in 5" widths. I need 12". I can get it, not worried and I can mill whatever I buy down to the correct widths anyway.

Noah930 07-08-2012 10:05 PM

Dave, how's the finger?

slodave 07-08-2012 10:05 PM

Still kinda sore if I twist or bend it certain ways. Seems to be much better than a week ago or so.

Noah930 07-08-2012 10:09 PM

I think it might be like that for months. You'll think you're fine, and then bump it and start it all over again. But with time (like a full year from initial injury), those episodes will be less frequent and last less time. Not much to do for it, unless it's really super duper killing you (could try a steroid injection, but I find them to be not so reliable in small joints of the fingers).

slodave 07-08-2012 10:12 PM

Okay. No big deal on injections. Just thought that maybe properly splinting it for a few days would have helped.

I'll just try and be gentle with it. :D Oh well, I have worse pains in my body than my finger.

slodave 07-08-2012 10:26 PM

Joe, I can also make small 3-4 cigar, travel humidors. I can actually make any size humidor that one wants. I figured I'd just start with desktop size, since I have a bunch of wood for that already.

Kinda like a pre-honeymoon. She said that if I haven't asked her to marry me by the end of these two weeks, she will ask me!...
(a bit of alcohol was involved when she said it, so I don't know if she was absolutely serious. There is a good chance she was....)
